Shopify AuditCreator

Head developer of AuditCreator, an internal tool the Storefront Optimization team used to audit prospective enterprise clients’ storefronts. It replaced a manual Google Docs and spreadsheets workflow. I am credited with helping land several of those clients. 2019–2022.

The problem

Shopify’s Storefront Optimization team audited prospective enterprise clients’ online stores during sales engagements.

The audits were written by hand in Google Docs and spreadsheets.

What I built

  • Designed and built AuditCreator as head developer.
  • It holds a curated, data-backed library of UI and UX recommendations.
  • Auditors tailor each recommendation to the store they are auditing.
  • Audits kept a consistent quality and structure. Each auditor kept their own voice.

What the team could do

  • About nine people on the team used it to audit prospective enterprise clients’ storefronts.
  • Auditors tailored recommendations from a shared library instead of writing each audit by hand.
  • I am credited with helping land several of those enterprise clients.
