How a project runs
We talk first. You agree the scope, the price and the timeline in writing before any build work starts.
This page walks through every step, from the first conversation to support after launch.
The steps, in order
01 · Free
First conversation
You send a short note about your business and what is getting in the way.
I reply and we talk. My aim is to reply within one business day.
We decide together whether I can help. You pay nothing for this step.
02 · $500 CAD, credited to your project
Discovery
We hold 2–3 one-hour meetings with your team.
We look at the problem and the ways to solve it.
You then get a short written summary of recommendations, scope options and a rough estimate.
The full $500 is credited toward your project if you sign a contract.
03 · Agreed before you commit
Proposal and contract
I write down the scope, the price and the timeline.
You read it and ask questions.
No build work starts until you sign.
04 · Project price
Build in visible milestones
A project runs for 2–3 months. The proposal sets the timeline for yours.
The proposal breaks the work into milestones.
At each milestone you see something working and tell me what to change.
05 · Part of the project
Launch
We put the finished work live together.
You see it working before it goes live.
Once you have paid, you own what was built.
06 · Agreed in the proposal
Support after launch
Your proposal says what support you get after launch.
It says how long that support lasts and what it costs.
It is not a fixed package. It is agreed per project.
What I need from you
- Time for the Discovery meetings.
- One person who can make decisions for your business.
- Examples of how you work today, such as your spreadsheets, forms or current website.
- Access to the tools and accounts the project connects to.
- Your own text and photos, if you have them. If not, we talk about it in the proposal.
- Feedback at each milestone.
How often we talk
- Discovery is 2–3 one-hour meetings.
- How often we talk during the build is agreed in the proposal.
- You also see working progress at each milestone.
- You can write to me between meetings.
Who owns what you build
- You do.
- Once you have paid, you own the code, the content and the accounts.
- I keep no ownership.
- The contract sets out the details.
When you want to change something
- Tell me what you want to change.
- I tell you what it means for the price and the timeline.
- Nothing changes until you agree.
- How change requests are handled is written in the proposal.
When I am building for someone else
- I take a small number of projects at a time.
- The proposal states when your project can start.
- If I cannot start soon, I tell you. You decide whether to wait.
Questions owners ask
What will it cost?
Each project type has a starting price on the Services page. The final price depends on scope. You get it in writing in the proposal, before you commit. Discovery costs $500 CAD and is credited in full if you sign a contract.
How long will it take?
Projects run 2–3 months. The proposal sets the timeline for your project.
I am not technical. Is that a problem?
No. Tell me how your business works and what you want to change. I make the technical decisions. I explain them in plain words.
What about hosting and my web address?
Hosting is the place where your website or app runs. A domain is its web address. The proposal lists which ones your project needs and what they cost, if anything. The accounts are yours once you have paid.
What happens after launch?
Your proposal says what support you get, for how long, and what it costs. You own what was built. You can keep working with me or take it elsewhere.
What if we are not a fit?
I tell you plainly. If it happens in the first conversation, you have paid nothing. If it happens after Discovery, you keep the written summary. You are not required to sign a contract.
What if I am not sure what I need?
That is what Discovery is for. We meet, look at your options and decide the next step together.
